I don’t think we need to introduce the next magician to the professional audience, as he is known to be a really creative magician in the business. Almost every time he performs professionally, he comes on stage with some stunt of his own creation or devising.
For the sake of order, I would like to present some of his achievements in professional competitions.
1996 Golden Wand /Monaco
2002 Merlin Award of the International Magicians Society
1993 third prize in the Grand Prix Manipulation category Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques (FISM)
Peter Marvey and I performed together in Bratislava in 2007. Of course he presented his manipulation show which was, as always, a huge success. Apart from the great experience of being on stage with him, I also happened to get a relic.
The story in brief:
Our team had an illusion number for the gala show so packing away our props took much longer than even a manipulator’s. Of course I was the last performer to leave the theatre that night. As is my custom, I checked everything before leaving, and so I did.
I found a treasure!
As I was picking up the tools I had left on the stage, I caught a glimpse of something on the stage boards. A thin little instrument with some tissue paper.
It didn’t take me long to recognize it as something from Peter’s show. Anyone familiar with his manipulation show will remember the bit where he multiplies cocktail glasses. In that scene, a butterfly starts flying above the glasses and Peter shoots it with a straw. After the show, he either didn’t have time or forgot, but he left it on the floor. I found it and there was no way to return it. It has since become one of the special pieces in my museum. With this little instrument and some forgotten pieces of cardboard, it has dazzled audiences in many places around the world.
