Rodolfo stamp On 28 March, Magyar Posta issued three commemorative stamps of Rodolfo (Rezső Gács), Lajos Básti and Manyi Kiss. One of the common features in the lives of the three artists, is that they were born 100 years ago, in 1911. Rezső Gács, known as Rodolfo – (1911-87): Artist of Merit (1960), Artist of Distinction (1971) and SZOT Prize (1980). He also gave him the artistic nickname Rodolfo Grosso. He became a member of the Hungarian Artists’ Association in January 1931. He was not only engaged in many well-known and popular entertainment venues in the capital, but also travelled the world as a performer. The real source of his success was the perfection of his acts and his ability to connect with the audience. Even in retirement he practised four hours a day. His popular slogan: “Watch my hands, I cheat!”
